Darren Berberian: CEO and President of Golden West Communities
Darren Berberian offers unique skills, passion and commitments that are multi-faceted and is a recognized leader known for constructing the essential strategic vision to achieve business goals. As CEO, his primary focus is strategic planning and execution, green initiatives and mindful community development.

Prior to founding Golden West Communities, Mr. Berberian has played a leadership role in the affordable housing industry. Since 2005 Darren specialized in acquisition and development and has been involved in the feasibility analysis, acquisitions, entitlement, LIHTC application, and development of over 2,500 units in 35 communities throughout California. Mr. Berberian has also served on the leadership team of projects with aggregate total project costs exceeding $500,000,000. His strong leadership and negotiating acumen have proven to be indispensable. With the affordable housing industry constantly changing, Darren has a proven track record of continuously remaining one step ahead and execute strategies that ensure the successful development and preservation of affordable housing units. Mr. Berberain has a BA in Business Administration and Leadership from Concordia University.

 

Nicole Palanjian: Co-Founder
Nicole Palanjian has spent over 17 years in marketing management and business development with increasing levels of responsibility. She has successfully achieved better brand recognition and increased customer demand through her management of marketing campaigns, with a focus on advertising, branding, trade shows, customer appreciation events, and social media. She has also created new partnerships which will continue to explore new opportunities.

Mrs. Palanjian utilizes her marketing background to create long-term value for Golden West Communities from customers, markets, and relationships. In her Southern California-based role she focuses primarily on business development initiatives that are consistent with the company’s overall strategy and is the driving force in the development of the work ethic, culture and values of GWC.

Nicole received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of California, Irvine, where she was on the dean’s list. She graduated from Pepperdine’s Graziado School of Business Management where she attained her MBA in 2014.
